Dementia Friendly Group to meet at The Crown

A new Dementia Friendly Group has been established in Reepham and will meet from 11 am – 12.30 pm on the first and third Mondays of the month at The Crown, 90 Ollands Road, Reepham, starting 16 October.
 
This is an informal group where people with dementia and their carers can drop in, drink tea/coffee, chat and play board games. Free to attend, just pay for your drinks.

Damage to vehicle on Sun Barn Road

Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident of criminal damage to a motor vehicle in Reepham.
 
The vehicle parked on Sun Barn Road was damaged by eggs and flour being thrown over it.
 
The incident occurred overnight between Saturday 2 September and Sunday 3 September.

Football coaching sessions for U5-U8 age group

Reepham Town Football Club is recommencing coaching sessions in September for youngsters in the U5-U8 age group (as of 31 August), i.e. school years R, 1, 2 and 3.

 

The sessions will be held on Saturday mornings at Stimpson’s Piece, Bartle Court, Reepham, from 9.30-10.30 am, commencing 9 September.

 

They will be run by Mike Graver, head of youth and a qualified Level 1 Football Association coach.

 

The aim is to continue weekly sessions through until mid-May 2018, other than the normal holiday breaks.

 

Library windows to be replaced

The Bircham Centre has been granted listed building consent to replace the two large windows in the library on the ground floor.
 
The community building in Reepham’s Market Place has received a grant of £1,000 towards the work from Broadland District Council and it is understood that the contract has been given to a local tradesman. The work is planned to commence in September.
 

Quilt raffle for Macmillan Cancer Support

The Busy Fingers Craft Group has made another quilt to be raffled in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. The draw will be made at the Big Coffee Morning on 30 September in St Michael’s, Reepham.
 

 
The quilt is in two shades of blue – navy and denim – and will fit a single bed; there is a matching pillowcase to go with it. Both items were hand-sewn by members of the group.
