Attempted theft of remaining cashpoint

Reepham’s only remaining cash machine has been left out of service after being smashed by a group of thieves, who tried to steal money from inside it.
 
The incident happened outside the Spar store on Ollands Road at around 1 am on Monday 16 March, it is reported.
 
This is the third time in eight years that an ATM has been targeted in Reepham.
 
In May 2012, a raid was carried out at the HSBC bank, which is now closed, with the theft of the cash machine.

Gardening club cancels meetings

Following government advice on coronavirus, Reepham & District Gardening Club has decided to cancel its meetings for April and May.
 
The club hopes the programme of events will resume in June, but urges members and guests to follow updates via the website (updates will be found in Recent Content).
 
The club apologises, but says this is due to circumstances beyond its control.
 

Bawdeswell film cancelled

Owing to unforeseen circumstances, the film due to be shown by Bawdeswell Village Cinema on Saturday 14 March has been cancelled.
 
However, the bar at Bawdeswell Village Hall will be open if anyone wants to drop in for a chat.
 
Mrs Lowry and Son but will now be screened on Saturday 11 April.

Royal Mail to raise stamp prices in March

Royal Mail is increasing its prices by a considerable amount from 23 March; for example, the price of a first-class stamp for a standard letter will increase by 6p to 76p, while a second-class stamp will increase by 4p to 65p.
 
Reepham Post Office in Market Place, Reepham, says it has plenty of stock available now to enable customers to stock up before the price increase takes effect.
