Chamber of Commerce announces shopping survey prize winners

Angela Gibbs of Lyng has won first prize in the draw for completed shopping surveys organised by Reepham Chamber of Commerce. Mrs Gibbs received £100 to be spent in the shops and businesses in Reepham. The Chamber produced special “Reepham Fivers” that can be redeemed with participating traders.

The winners were drawn by members of the Reepham Town Team at their recent meeting, which was attended by members of St Mary’s church, the Town Council, the Reepham Society and other local organisations.

Chamber of Commerce chairman Brenda Gostling presented the “bunch of Reepham Fivers” to Mrs Gibbs and her son, Archie, in Market Place, Reepham.

Mrs Gibbs, who teaches at Reepham High School & College, was thrilled with her win. “This didn’t just make my day, it’s made my month!” she said. “I’m going to think about what to spend it on and will spend it wisely. It will be used for something special.”

Second prize of four Reepham Festival tickets went to Mrs L Kelman of Reepham and third prize of a champagne cream tea for two at Hampton’s was won by Mrs H Wood, also of Reepham. Both were delighted to be prize winners.

The survey was distributed to all households and businesses in Reepham as well as to pupils at the schools; it was also available in some of the shops in the town and online.

It asked questions about the experience people had in the shops and businesses, their use of Reepham businesses and about issues such as parking as well as inviting respondents to comment on what they liked best and least about the town.

Reepham Chamber members are now in the process of inputting the data from all of the questionnaires into a database so that the responses can be analysed.

The Chamber plans to present the results to Reepham at an open event once the analysis has been completed. The results will also be summarised in a future edition of Reepham Life.
