The American-style diner and traditional sweet shop was established last year by local entrepreneur Roy Wainwright, who has now sold the business to new owner David Williamson after taking over Darbys Freehouse in Swanton Morley in July.

Mr Williamson, who lives in Buxton, said he plans to continue running the establishment as before, although there will be a few changes to the menu of fast food, hot and cold drinks, and ice creams, which are all keenly priced and aimed at youngsters and families.

He previously ran a sandwich shop in Holt and had been looking around at similar businesses in Norwich and other nearby market towns, but found most were expensive with high overheads.

“Luckily, I was able to buy this business for a reasonable price, which came with a relatively cheap rent,” said Mr Williamson. “Although it was closed for most of the summer, the place will hopefully get back on its feet quickly.”

Open six days a week, Monday–Saturday, from 8.30 am – 5 pm, the diner seats up to 16 people and will continue to be available for children’s parties. The sweet shop can also cater for weddings and christenings.
