New date to find Reepham’s lost medieval church
A change of date has been announced for the archaeological guided walk to find Reepham’s lost medieval church that was to take place on Sunday 9 November. This will now be held on Saturday 15 November to avoid a clash with the morning service on Remembrance Sunday.

Reepham is famous for its three churches in one churchyard. These are the churches of the former parishes of Reepham, Whitwell and Hackford, which all converge on the Market Place.
But Reepham as we know it today includes a fourth medieval parish – Kerdiston, occupying the area to the north and northwest of the modern town.
A field lying just to the north of the Marriott’s Way is known on old maps as “Chapel Close” or “Chapel Yards” and recorded as the site of St Mary’s Church, Kerdiston.
Recent inspection of air photography dating back to 2006 revealed Reepham’s fourth medieval church, beautifully outlined in a growing cereal crop – even its round tower was then clearly visible. This church was probably demolished hundreds of years ago.
The site is easily accessible from public footpaths and the Marriott’s Way.
