Have your say on Marriott’s Way

Norfolk Trails is holding a public consultation on improving Marriott’s Way and will hold a drop-in session on Wednesday 18 February at the Bircham Centre, Market Place, Reepham, from 2 pm – 6.30 pm.

Norfolk County Council is working together with Norwich City Council, Broadland District Council, South Norfolk Council and Sustrans to draw up a new improvement strategy for Marriott’s Way for the next 10 years.

As well as ideas for improvements on Marriott’s Way, the session will also cover such topics as surfacing, lighting, information about the trail, vegetation management and other features, such as artwork.

Marriott’s Way is a 26-mile footpath, bridleway and cycle route that follows the routes of two disused railway lines, running between the market town of Aylsham and the city of Norwich. The route is named after the chief engineer and manager of the Midland and Great Northern Railway system, William Marriott.

Other drop-in sessions will take place during February at Mile Cross, Costessey, Drayton and Aylsham.
