New ‘village bobby’ for Reepham

PC Rob Devlin (pictured) is the new beat manager for Reepham and surrounding villages. He replaces PC Julia Benson.

Based at Aylsham Police Station, PC Devlin is now the point of contact for the area (the equivalent of what was known as the “village bobby”). He will take on and address any concerns residents may have.

PC Devlin, who has 26 years’ service with Norfolk Constabulary, was previously based in Norwich, Cromer, North Walsham and Aylsham, and has also worked as a divisional detective constable.

“My parents lived in Reepham for over 30 years and were both active members of the local community, so for me it was a natural progression wanting to work in this area,” he said.

“I now look forward to a combining my local family connections with experience and good community-based police values. I feel I bring to this role accessibility, familiarity and commitment.”

There were 22 crimes reported in the Reepham area in August 2017, including 12 violence and sexual offences and seven anti-social behaviour offences.

  • PC Devlin can be contacted via email or by calling 101 and asking for Aylsham Police Station.
