Roachford’s recent gig at The Waterfront in Norwich was a sell-out and next August the band will bring their inimitable musical style to Rookery Meadow in Reepham.
Since the release of their first hit single, Cuddly Toy, in 1988, Roachford have enjoyed huge success in the UK, US and European charts, and they are still one of the busiest and most sought-after bands in the business.
Their other chart-toppers include the infectiously soulful Family Man and the ultra-cool This Generation.
Andrew is also a key member of the iconic supergroup Mike + The Mechanics and, over the course of his long and illustrious career, has been approached to write songs for everyone from Michael Jackson to Chaka Khan.
Reepham continues to attract the UK’s best musicians, including the cream of local talent. Already joining Roachford on the Reepham 18 bill will be Dorset-based folk-punk favourites Black Water County and tribute band Mainly Madness, with many more acts to be announced over the coming months. The organising committee will also be unveiling its new Rookery Meadow stage.
This will be the 11th Reepham Music Festival, which started from humble beginnings in 2007 with the aim of giving the community a family-friendly weekend of music with proceeds from ticket sales going to local charities.
The two-day event has grown to become one of the best loved and most eagerly anticipated highlights in the Norfolk summer calendar, providing family entertainment and, over the years, raising thousands of pounds for deserving causes.
Reepham 18 will take place on the weekend of 11-12 August. Early-bird tickets will be available shortly, and further details and regular updates published on the new-look website, which will go online soon.
The event has been completely sold out for the past six years, so festival-goers are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.
