Crown planning decision appeal ‘forgotten’

An appeal lodged against Broadland District Council’s decision to refuse permission for a planning application for a change of use of The Crown from a public house to residential has been “forgotten”.

The Crown, Ollands Road, Reepham

The Planning Inspectorate was due to visit the pub in Ollands Road, Reepham, by the end of September and to have announced its decision in the first week of November.

Speaking at last night’s Reepham Town Council meeting, Broadland District Councillor Chris Wheeler revealed he had finally managed to speak with the relevant officer at the Planning Inspectorate in Bristol, who admitted the appeal had been overlooked.

It is understood the visit will now take place in the week commencing 16 December with a decision to be announced within six weeks of that date.

The appeal against Broadland’s decision was made by Mr G Monk, who has submitted revised plans to turn the pub into a five-bedroom residential dwelling.
