Silence gains smart kit for Year 8 football team

Reepham High School’s Year 8 boys’ football team will run out onto the pitch with pride after raising funds for their new kit.

The boys provided themselves with a challenge in the form of a sponsored silence at school in January, which raised almost £300, and were then delighted to receive a generous donation from sponsors MacLynn – providers of professional IT consultancy services.

Their long held wish for their own kit came true recently as the boys took delivery of their red and black strip. They have training and warm-up tops, shorts and socks – the tops have been personalised with the Reepham High School & College logo and the boy’s initials.

They are shortly off to take part in a three-day Manchester United Soccer School and are looking forward to running out onto the pitch in style.

PE teacher and coach Peter Taylor said: “The boys look smart and are really pleased with their new kit. They can’t wait to go on their trip, which will involve lots of training and playing matches. This wouldn’t have been possible without the generous help of our sponsor and the fundraising efforts of the boys themselves.”
