Sparham Annual Garden Party raises £1,600 for church

Despite the threat of rain, the Sparham Annual Garden Party held on Saturday 28 June raised more than £1,600 – the best result in the past six years – which has been donated to St Mary the Virgin church in Sparham.

With over 100 prizes, the tombola was a great attraction, while the £75 top prize in the Grand Draw was won by Oonagh Walsh of Reepham.

Homemade cakes sold well and many visitors chose a refreshment break before trying their skills at the various games on offer.

In mid-afternoon the appearance of the Reepham School of Dance & Drama stopped everyone in their tracks as they applauded the performance of the young girls and boys in their various musical routines.

Many thanks to Tracy and Rob for the use of their lovely garden again. Thanks also to all who donated prizes for the Grand Draw, to all the plant growers and those manning the stall in the church, and to everyone who helped out during the afternoon.
