Nominations now open for the Broadland Sports Awards

Broadland District Council will be holding its annual sports awards presentation on 24 October. The awards are designed to celebrate sporting achievements in the Broadland district and to thank some of the volunteers that make participation possible.
 
 

 
BDC is looking for nominations in the following categories:

  • Park-run runner of the year (sponsored by Sweatshop): the park-run runner that has made significant improvements to their running;
  • Park-run volunteer of the year (Sponsored by The National Trust, Blickling Estate): the park-run volunteer who has made a meaningful contribution to their local park-run;
  • Young Sports achiever (sponsored by Community Sports Foundation): for athletes aged 18 years and under on 30 September who have shown outstanding performance in their chosen sport;
  • Adult Sports achiever (sponsored by Nuffield Health): for athletes aged 19 years and over on 30 September who have shown outstanding performance in their chosen sport;
  • Club of the year (sponsored by UEA Sportspark): a club that has shown commitment to its members and an improvement in performance;
  • Coach of the year (sponsored by Pedal Revolution): an individual who has provided outstanding coaching and motivation to athletes;
  • Inspirational sportsperson (sponsored by Getfitstayfit Norfolk): a person who has made significant achievements despite being faced with adversity or barriers to success;
  • Volunteer of the year (sponsored by Public Health Norfolk County Council): a person who has given up their own time to make a difference to sport and physical activity in the Broadland area;
  • Sports school of the year (sponsored by Places for People): a school that has provided exceptional sporting opportunities for students;
  • Broadly active client of the year (sponsored by Active Norfolk): the Broadly Active exercise referral client who has made positive changes to their lifestyle resulting in them being fitter and healthier.

 
Nominees must live in Broadland (except Broadly Active clients) or be involved with a Broadland-based club or group.
 
All entries must be submitted by Friday 26 September 2014. The judges’ decision is final.
 
Award winners and those who made the nominations will be invited to attend the award ceremony on Friday 24 October 2014 at Thorpe Lodge, Thorpe St Andrew.
