Festival of Light plans well advanced for 3 December spectacular

Plans for a glittering evening of fun and fundraising on Wednesday 3 December are well under way.

Reepham’s Market Place will be the centre of the event with the big switch-on of the Christmas lights.

A timetable of events is being put together to entertain both young and old from 5 pm through to around 8 pm.

Although still to be confirmed, some of the highlights should include a children’s lamp-lit procession, a brass band and jazz music, carol singing, the Dragon Hall Mummers, children’s entertainment and, of course, an appearance from Father Christmas himself.

There will be a range of food and drink available both from stalls and from eateries, shops and market traders, and several local clubs, societies and charities will hold stalls where a range of opportunities to win prizes or purchase seasonal goodies will be on offer.

The organisers are also looking at some special attractions that will be announced nearer the event.

Look out for the full programme in November’s Reepham Life.

Reepham Town Council has pledged £300 towards the event, with a further £500 coming from Broadland District Council.
