Households wanted for Green Deal scheme

Reepham Town Council could receive up to £500 if 10 residents sign up to Broadland District Council’s Green Deal Scheme.

Broadland successfully bid for funding from the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and has funds available to help parishes promote the Green Deal to their residents.

As an added incentive, the Town Council will receive £50 for each resident its signs up to the scheme, up to a maximum of 10.

The Green Deal is a “new way to pay” for energy efficiency improvements within the home. The initiative provides a finance mechanism that enables residents to improve their homes with no upfront cost.

Through this scheme residents will be offered a free energy assessment of their property. This will mean they have a good understanding of what they can do to their property to keep it warmer and save money on their bills.

Households then have the opportunity to proceed with a Green Deal package to implement the energy saving measures.
