Furniture and interiors shop celebrates first birthday

Country Modern’s shop in Nowhere Lane, Great Witchingham, is celebrating its first birthday in April, and to mark the occasion owners Fran and Clive Osborne will be hosting a celebration on Saturday 18 April with special offers, paint demonstrations and a slice of birthday cake for every customer.

The shop, which is situated in what were the old tearooms of the Norfolk Wildlife Park, specialises in hand-painted furniture and interiors, and also stocks home accessories and garden brocante.

It has been a busy year for Country Modern, which has continued to grow and develop. As well as creating unique pieces for the shop, the Osbornes continue to undertake a wide range of commissions for customers, transforming items by giving them a new lease of life.

They now stock vintage chalk and milk paints and run painting workshops to show others how to achieve the same paint effects that they do. They also serve freshly ground coffee, tea and cake, which can be enjoyed in the shop or on the terrace overlooking the park.
