Bircham Centre celebrates centenary with garden party

The Bircham Centre held its Centenary Garden Party in Reepham on Saturday 3 August. The weather was perfect and the garden looked wonderful.

The 130 guests enjoyed an afternoon of music, food and friendship. They were entertained by a recorder duo from the Toot Suite Recorder Ensemble, and tucked into refreshments provided by the Reepham WI and the Reepham Country Market team.

The event was made possible by a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund.

During the afternoon a cheque for £500 was presented by the Reepham & District Rotary Club towards the centre’s Centenary Fund to help with the maintenance and restoration of the building.

A yellow magnolia tree was also planted to commemorate the centenary of the building being given to the residents of Reepham by Samuel Bircham 100 years ago.
