Sweet shop offers a place to meet with free Wi-Fi

Having recently refurbished the old butchers/wet fish shop on Townsend Corner, Reepham’s new sweets and ice cream shop is planning to open from 8 am to 9.30 pm, Monday to Saturday, to give children and teenagers a place where they can meet up.

The shop is now a spot for young people to catch up with friends and to log onto the web with free Wi-Fi (limited time per person), according to Roy Wainwright of Sweet Success Norfolk.

“We can seat around 22 people for events such as birthdays, meetings and general get-togethers,” said Mr Wainwright. “And we are looking to have an open day so everyone can come and see the place for themselves.

“Having spoken with more than 100 kids/teenagers and some 50 adults over the past six weeks, it has been suggested that we also offer children’s parties with entertainment, such as face painting and balloon animals, as well as ice cream and milk shake Sundays on the first Sunday of every month.

“During the evening we will offer hot and cold refreshments, as well as sweets, slushes, ice creams, sundaes, milk shakes, tea, coffee and hot chocolate with all the trimmings, and fudge and waffles.

“The most important thing is having people in and around the town – and on the weekends.”
