Marriott’s Way 10k race to finish in Reepham Market Place

The 2013 Marriott’s Way 10k race starting at 11 am on Sunday 13 October will be the fifth of its kind and promises to be the biggest and best so far. The 10-km race along the Marriott’s Way between Aylsham and Reepham is mainly off-road and predominantly flat. This makes it ideal for beginners and the more experienced runners alike.

Owing to the ever growing popularity of the race, this year there will be two waves of runners, offering more people the chance to take part than ever before. Runners will be coming from across Norfolk and further afield to take part in this well respected race.

The race will finish in the historic Reepham Market Place, where spectators are encouraged to cheer the runners over the finish line. DixieMix Jazz Band will be entertaining the crowds in Reepham and several of the town’s shops and eateries will be open on the day to add to the occasion, including the King’s Arms and V’s Café, which will offer food and beverages.

The race is sponsored by the Whitwell & Reepham Railway and supported by Sportlink and D & F McCarthy.

Councillor Claudette Bannock, Sports Champion at Broadland District Council said: “It is a fantastic opportunity for the runners in the region to take part in a 10 km race through a scenic multi-terrain route and now there are even more chances to run with the new two-wave start at 11 am and 11.15 am."

If you haven’t already entered don’t delay as places are filling up fast with entries closing at midnight on Monday 7 October.
