Supporting wounded sick and injured service personnel

This isn't about a Reepham event, but is something that may be of interest to many Reepham people...

The Two Worlds of Charlie F is a production coming to the Theatre Royal Norwich from 6-10 May. The play was created through the Royal British Legion's Bravo 22 project which aims to use theatre to aid the recovery of wounded, sick and injured service personnel returning from places like Iraq and Afghanistan.

The play is about their stories and, importantly, performed by them. It explores the effects of injury and its impact on others - before, during and after it happens. But it's not a horror story: the Theatre Royal describes it as a "darkly comic, authentic and uplifting tale of survival". I met some of the cast when they visited Norwich back in February; the ex-marine who plays the title role of Charlie F served in Afghanistan, losing a leg on his second tour.  He was funny and relaxed about his injuries but said quite simply that "this play saved my life".

The play is on a national tour and has been getting fantastic reviews and standing ovations wherever it goes.

There's a charity gala night on Tues 6 May. Gala tickets, which cost £50 each, include post-show drinks and discussion with the cast, as well as a £20 donation to the Royal British Legion. My involvement is through my client, Almary Green, who are sponsoring this gala event.

Gala night tickets are not available to buy online so to book them, please call the Theatre on 01603 598512. Availability for both the Gala night and the rest of the week is still good.

I was inspired by their stories and I'm expecting to be blown away by their performance, so just wanted to share this with Reepham... Perhaps I'll see you there.
