As we came through the bends on Cawston Road this morning between Cawston and Reepham, we were faced with a fallen tree stretching across both lanes of the road. We were only the second car to arrive at the scene and the driver in the other vehicle had already alerted the police.
 
The tree was far too big to move, however as more traffic arrived, the male drivers assessed the situation, went back to their cars and returned, armed with a saw and a towing belt and between them the tree was quickley cut into managable pieces, the heaviest part of the trunk was dragged off the road by a 4x4 vehicle using the towing belt, the more managable parts of the tree were manually lifted off the road. Job done in about ten minutes!
 
Moral of the story - always travel with a saw and towing belt! Many thanks to all who helped and cleared the road so quickly.
