Old Brewery Lane residents want street name to remain

Residents of Old Brewery Lane in Reepham have asked Broadland District Council not to change the name of their street.
 
The Council had proposed to rename the two sections of Old Brewery Lane, which is divided by a pedestrianised walkway with no vehicular access between the two discrete parts, into “Old Brewery Lane East” and “Old Brewery Lane West”.
 
This would be especially important in case of an emergency, explained a Council spokesperson.
 

Stimpson’s Piece working group formed

A working group has come together made up predominantly of representatives from the regular users of Stimpson’s Piece and the pavilion in Reepham, and members of the public.
 
Meetings have been held over the summer months with the initial objective of building a relationship with the trustee and getting an understanding of how the pavilion is currently managed.
 
The working group will be taking responsibility for a number of tasks from November that will assist in the day-to-day running. These include:

Safer Neighbourhood Action Panel (SNAP) meeting on 29 September

A Safer Neighbourhood Action Panel (SNAP) for the Reepham neighbourhood will be held at 7 pm on Tuesday 29 September in the Bircham Centre, Market Place, Reepham.
 
The meeting will give people the chance to raise any issues or concerns they may have about where they live and speak to panel members made up of representatives from the police, district council and other agencies. The panel will decide on the priorities for the area for all partners to act upon for the next two months.
