First glimpse of new ‘park and stride’ campaign

With Station Road in Reepham being closed from 8–12 April, vehicle users are being encouraged to take advantage of the ample car parking space at Stimpson’s Piece (off Bartle Court) during this period.

Stimpson’s Piece is just a four-and-a-half minute walk to the town’s Market Place and is open throughout the day, every day of the week.

And next week during the road closure, people will begin to see a glimpse of the forthcoming campaign to “Park and Stride” in Reepham.

On the walk from the car park to the Market Place, you will notice interesting facts about the benefits of walking into town, such as “walking briskly makes your heart healthier”.

Also on show will be the new Park and Stride logo for Reepham, which has been developed by the Reepham Town Team.

This aims to encourage long-stay visitors, as well as employees travelling from outside the town, to park in the spacious Stimpson’s Piece car park and free up space in the Station Road car park for shoppers and short-term visitors to the town.

After the initial promotion next week, work will be put in place to install permanent signage to encourage drivers to make the short walk from Stimpson’s Piece, and information will be provided about the car parks, their rules and restrictions.

It is hoped the whole community in Reepham will get behind the scheme and encourage fellow vehicle users to take those few, extra steps towards a happier, healthier and more prosperous town.
