Reepham named among UK’s best places to live

The Sunday Times has named Reepham as one of the best places to live in the UK in 2025. It praises the independent shops, varied eateries and, most importantly, the great community feeling.

The Sunday Times reporter spoke at length with Reepham Festival director Tom Crisp, who was clear in his praise of the town and its people. He is quoted in the article saying: “The community is what drives this place. Someone who moved into the town from London told me she had been blown away by how friendly people are. She is still getting used to the fact that everyone says ‘hello’.”

Reepham Festival is committed to promoting the prosperity of the town. The annual music festival is held over a weekend in August and brings in more than 1,000 visitors.

RFestival 25 takes place on 9–10 August. This year’s headline act is Callum Beattie, one of the UK’s most exciting stars, who has just sold out at major venues in Scotland, including the 14,000-capacity Hydro in Glasgow, where almost 10,000 tickets were sold over two days, causing the ticketing website to crash. RFestival will be one of a select number of performances he will be giving in England in 2025.

Reepham Festival is run by volunteers and surplus profits are donated to local charities. The festival team has recently facilitated a campaign to raise money to get a sculpture in Reepham as part of Break’s GoGoSafari trail this summer, which should bring further visitors to the town.

The Sunday Times article names many of the local shops including Robertsons Family Butchers and Reepham Home Hardware, plus the two pubs and popular cafés. In addition, it lists some of the town’s charitable organisations run by volunteers, including Reepham Lions and Rotary Clubs, the Scout Group and the WI.
