“Her ministry to every member of the Reepham Benefice, and for the past year to the Reepham and Wensum Valley Benefice, has been valued and distinctive,” said Sue Page, lay chairman of Reepham Parochial Church Council. “She has shown care and compassion, leadership and courage to all our communities.

“Reepham, Salle, Wood Dalling and Thurning know her best, as since February 2011 she has been present at many celebrations and services, and in peoples’ homes in times of bereavement, illness and loss, and celebration.

“As she prepared for weddings or funerals, with couples and families across the communities, Margaret has become known and valued and loved by all. She is kind and attentive to everyone.

“The villages in the newer benefice have been struck by her attendance and willingness to listen and help in any circumstance. The Town Team, the schools, the children and families who come to Messy Church, those who run businesses and those who live in the parishes, have valued their friendship with her.”

Revd Canon Dean has been supported by her husband Tim, who has led many services as associate priest and has also served as rural dean for the past three years. “We will miss them both tremendously,” said Mrs Page.
