Economic strategy initiatives take shape

Work by the Reepham Town Team on the Economic Strategy is progressing well. Having completed a comprehensive programme of research and consultation the project has now moved into the strategy development phase.

To address issues around recognition and perception, projects are emerging that seek to improve the visitor experience

The emerging strategy is based around addressing three principle issues identified as undermining the performance of Reepham’s economy:

  1. consumer leakage;
  2. constrained business base;
  3. recognition and perception.

The Town Team is now working up a series of detailed projects and initiatives for each of these issues.

For example, to address consumer leakage the Town Team is developing projects based around creating a retail renaissance, addressing a range of problems with the public realm particularly in the town centre, and improving local transport.

To address issues around recognition and perception, projects are emerging that seek to improve the quality of new development, make best use of vacant land and buildings and improve the visitor experience.
