Latest fEAST production to be performed at Foulsham

A new production from fEAST TheatreInto Thin Air – will be touring Norfolk and Suffolk next month, including a performance on Saturday 13 October at Foulsham Village Hall at 7.30 pm.

Charlotte Price plays a missing Norfolk schoolgirl, Susan Kemp, in Rob John’s new play Into Thin Air

Described as a “compelling mystery and tender family memoir”, this new play by Rob John opens in 1982 when 15-year-old Norfolk school girl Susan Kemp vanishes; 36 years later her brothers still live in the shadow of her disappearance.

Inevitably, the play has similarities with the notorious April Fabb case, the Norfolk teenager who disappeared in 1969. But Mr John insists his story and its characters are entirely fictional.

fEAST Theatre was formed in 2010 by Mr John and Mandy McKenna to develop and showcase new work by professional writers, actors and directors from Norfolk and the Eastern region.

This latest production stars London-based actress Charlotte Price who plays Susan, and is directed by Mr John and features fEAST regulars Dawn Finnerty, Robin McLoughlin and Owen Evans of Nimmo Twins fame.

Co-director Ms Finnerty said: “Like many theatre-makers we would love to see more young people at our shows. Under 20s are a hard-to-reach audience and we are determined to challenge that.

“We feel that Rob’s story will appeal to younger people as well as our established audience and so we are planning to give students in schools and colleges an opportunity to meet some of the characters from the play through a series of Forum Theatre workshops.

“We hope that some of those who take part in these sessions will want to find out what happens next and so come and see the show.”
