Bircham Centre looks back on centenary celebrations

The Bircham Centre held its annual general meeting on Monday 7 September, before the government’s new restrictions on the number of people who can gather together came into effect.

Around 130 guests attended the Bircham Centre’s centenary garden party in August 2019.

The meeting should have taken place at the beginning of April and was held to inform all of the 2019 activities of the centre.

Last year, the centre celebrated the gift of the building in Market Place, Reepham, by Samuel Bircham, to the town.

The centenary celebrations were made possible through support from the National Lottery Community Fund and many local businesses, community groups and individuals, with events culminating in a community garden party.

The new chair of the trustees, Les West, offered thanks to all who made the many events possible, and to those many local supporters who attended them.

A card and flowers were presented to the outgoing chair, Brenda Green, from the community.
