New lottery to support non-profit organisations

The Broadland Community at Heart Lottery has been launched to help support non-profit organisations that have faced difficulties fundraising.

Charities and other non-profit organisations or community groups that are either based in the Broadland district or cover the Broadland area may be eligible to apply.

More information about the scheme, including a recording from the virtual launch and the terms and conditions, can be viewed HERE.

Tickets will sell for £1 each, with supporters being able to choose where they want their money to go: 50% of ticket sales will go to the person’s nominated good cause, 10% will go into a community fund run by Broadland District Council and the remaining 40% will go towards the prize money.

There will be a weekly draw with a jackpot of £25,000; other prizes available are £2,500, £250, £25 or three free tickets.

Tickets will go on sale on 12 January, with the first draw taking place on 27 February. Any funds raised by good causes will be paid monthly from March onwards.

Applications to become a “Good Cause” on behalf of a charity/non-profit organisation or community group, can be made via the dedicated Community at Heart Lottery website.

Applications will come to the Communities Team at Broadland District Council, who will check that the charity/non-profit organisation/community group fulfils the criteria before progressing.
