The idea of Threads Bridal came about when owner Laura Hilton got engaged to her partner of ten years in 2019 and she began the exciting journey of looking for her dream wedding dress.

She said: “My dreams of walking into one of the many beautiful bridal boutiques in Norfolk and coming out with a gown was quickly shattered when I realised that my budget wasn’t going to get me anything close to a dress.

“Being conscious of my environmental impact has been at the forefront of my mind over the past couple of years, so when I decided to launch Threads Bridal, I knew that I would only be stocking second-hand bridalwear and choosing one for my upcoming big day, too.

“Not only was it a cost-effective choice, which helps when saving for a wedding, but the dresses on offer have had very little environmental impact on the planet, which was important to me.

“The message globally that we’re hearing is to reduce, reuse and re-wear, so if I can offer brides a second choice when choosing a wedding dress, I feel as though I am helping in some way or another.”

With previous experience in personal shopping, design and garment construction, Ms Hilton can also help with alterations, redesigning and sizing.

“All my dresses are priced at around £500, in near-perfect condition and hand-picked for their quality and style,” she added.

Customers also have the option of reselling their wedding dresses in the boutique.

A resident of Bawdeswell, Ms Hilton previously worked in product development for the Monica Vinader jewellery business in Holkham before being made redundant last year owing to the pandemic.

Prior to that, she spent six years working in the fashion industry in London as a fashion advisor for Chanel on Bond Street and at Harrods.

Ant Moore, asset manager for Salle Moor Hall Farm, said: “Threads Bridal is a fantastic new tenant for the farm, adding to an already exciting and diverse line-up of small-to-medium independent business.”

Threads Bridal is located in Barn 13/13a at Salle Moor Hall Farm, off Wood Dalling Road, Salle, near Reepham. It is open every day by appointment only in two-hour slots that can be made via the online booking system or by email.
