I am writing to say how much I enjoyed reading Nicky Barrell’s article “From Rags to Riches – The Reepham Convict” in the Eastern Daily Press (Saturday 6 October).
I lived in Reepham with my grandparents until 1948 when I was 14 years old, then moved to Norwich.
My grandfather was Fred Egmore, a chimney sweep, who lived in the “railway carriage bungalow” on Kerdiston Road, and my father was in the Reepham Band.
I am now 84 years old and have some happy memories of my time in Reepham.
