At the Reepham Town Council meeting on Wednesday 10 September, Nigel Fielding was co-opted as a town councillor; he has some experience as a parish councillor elsewhere. District Councillor Stuart Beadle was also in attendance and gave a verbal report.
The town council agreed to obtain quotes for a grant bid writer to assist in grant funding for the replacement skatepark at Stimpson’s Piece.
Allotment rents for October 2026 were reviewed and it was agreed to keep the rents at the current level of £75 for a full-size plot and £37.50 for a half-sized plot.
The defibrillator in the Market Place is reaching the end of its life and a new location is needed for its replacement, which the town council agreed to fund. The King’s Arms has generously agreed to house it on the external wall of the pub, close to Pudding Pie Alley. A second unit will also be purchased and will be located on the wall of the fire station in School Road.
At the Stimpson’s Piece Trustee meeting, it was announced that a consultation event for the new skatepark will be held at Stimpson’s Piece Pavilion on the afternoon/evening of Thursday 23 October. Local residents are invited to attend to give their views.
Repair work has been carried out on the large multi-play equipment and toddler swings at Stimpson’s Piece; the gutters on the hall have also been cleared. A gardener will soon carry out work to the exterior of the hall to weed and mow overgrown areas.
Meanwhile, more play equipment is due to be installed in early November, consisting of a callisthenics gym and a Rotanet.
The next Reepham Town Council and Stimpson’s Piece trustee meetings will be held on Wednesday 8 October from 7.30 pm at Stimpson’s Piece Pavilion, Bartle Court, Reepham.
