Following last year’s event, the Reepham Classic Car Festival will again be held on Sunday 28 September in Reepham Market Place, which will be closed to traffic for the day.

The festival is a free event for the public and will run from 11 am to 4 pm. It will feature around 100 classic cars ranging from a 1936 Rolls and a 1937 Bentley, Austin 7s and classic Jaguars and Mini Coopers, and many other British and European classics of the 1960s and 70s, along with several American muscle cars.
Of particular interest will be a 1902 Type 49 Peugeot veteran car (pictured above) that has participated in at least 50 London to Brighton runs and was possibly originally owned by a Reepham doctor.
The display will be organised with the help of Reepham & District Rotary Club marshals.
There is free all-day parking at Reepham High School on Whitwell Road and at Stimpson’s Piece recreation ground on Bartle Court, off Station Road.
Food and drink will be available in and around the Market Place, including Lilwalls Hog Roasts, What’s The Scoop’s pizza trailer and an ice cream van, along with a ukulele band.
This year’s festival will be in memory of Steve Capel, who was a longstanding organiser of the show and passed away earlier this year. The King’s Arms is the main sponsor for the event, with a generous grant provided by Reepham Town Council.
The East Anglian Air Ambulance is again the car festival’s chosen charity and will give a defibrillator and CPR demonstration, while on the day the Bircham Centre will host the Country Market as well as a detectorist’s exhibition.
“We look forward to your attendance at what should be a fantastic festival for car enthusiasts and a great family day out for everyone,” said Hugh Ivins, one of the event organisers.
