Driver taken to hospital as tree crushes car in Booton

A man had to be taken to hospital after he narrowly avoided serious injury when a massive, ancient tree fell on his car while he was driving in Booton during Storm Eunice.

Police were called at 2.50 pm today by Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, following reports of a fallen tree landing on cars with people inside on Church Lane, near St Michael the Archangel’s Church.

A neighbouring farmer, Jeremy Buxton of Eves Hill Farm, also pitched in after being called by the emergency services to help.
