Cawston Village Hall, High Street, Cawston

A royal ship carrying James Stuart, Duke of York and heir to the throne, ran aground on a sandbank off the Norfolk coast on 6 May 1682. No one knew the HMS Gloucester’s exact whereabouts until it was found in 2007. Julian Barnwell, one of the divers who discovered the wreck, will tell the story of the discovery of “Norfolk’s Mary Rose”. Admission: £5 at the door (including refreshments).
