‘Rare’ gold coin found near Reepham valued at £140,000

An “extremely rare and important” Edward III leopard gold coin found by a metal detectorist near Reepham in 2019 is expected to fetch up to £140,000 at auction.
 
The 23-carat coin was declared treasure by a Norfolk coroner and will be sold at auction by Dix Noonan Webb in March.

New solar farm could be built near Cawston

An 87-acre solar farm could be built near Cawston, despite concerns it will lead to the loss of agricultural land.
 
Proposals for the scheme, which would see solar panels cover an area of farmland roughly equivalent to 49 football pitches, are to be heard by Broadland District Council this week.

Those in attendance will be Inspector Kerry Woodbine, officers from the Local Neighbourhood Policing Team and members of the community to discuss local policing issues and successes.
