Increase in town council precept

Reepham Town Council has agreed to increase the precept for the 2022/23 financial year.
 
The council’s budget for the next financial year will increase to £82,825, up from £79,485 in the current year, a rise of 4.2%.
 
It will mean a rise of £3.32 a year for a Band D property.
 
This represents the first increase in the precept for many years as the town council has had sufficient reserves.

Part of Marriott’s Way closed for tree felling

A section of the Marriott’s Way footpath, cycle-path and bridleway south of Whitwell Station has been closed to allow trees to be cut down, after an annual safety survey focusing on ash dieback disease.
 
The work, which will remove dead or dangerous trees, started on Wednesday 8 December and is expected to take two weeks.
 
Diversions for walkers, cyclists and horse-riders have been put in place.
