Marriott’s Way 10k race now full; road closures in Reepham

Around 450 runners will take part in the 7th Marriott’s Way 10k along the Marriott’s Way between Aylsham and Reepham on Sunday 11 October, with three waves setting off at 11 am, 11.10 am and 11.20 am.

Organiser Broadland District Council confirmed that the mainly off-road race is now full. There will be limited opportunities for entries on the day, with further information being displayed on the council’s website in the week leading up to the race.

Whitwell & Reepham Railway is sponsoring the event, with D&F McCarthy and Sweatshop also supporting the race. Other local businesses will be offering spot prizes and there will a wide variety of refreshments on offer in Reepham.

This year the 10-km race will again be finishing in Reepham town centre. When runners leave the Marriott’s Way at the junction with Station Road, Reepham, they will run down Ollands Road and then turn right into Church Hill and finish in the centre of the Market Place.

To ensure the safety of the runners Broadland District Council has applied for a temporary road closure of Ollands Road and the Market Place on the day from 11 am – 2 pm, which has been approved by Norfolk County Council.

It is advisable that if residents of these roads will be requiring their vehicle they should make alternative arrangements to move it before the road closure is in place.
