Skate park vandals caught on CCTV

A group of youths, including five boys and two girls aged between 14 and 18 years, have been filmed causing criminal damage at Stimpson’s Piece, Reepham’s recreation ground off Station Road.

CCTV footage recorded on the evening of Monday 12 September shows three boys and two girls arriving at the youth shelter at 11.30 pm.

One girl with blonde hair was wearing an ankle-length, light-coloured dress and carrying a large shopping-type shoulder bag, while the other girl was wearing dark bootleg trousers and a light top with a darker three-quarter length jacket.

One boy was wearing light-coloured clothing and carrying a shoulder bag; two other boys were wearing shorts.

At 11.34 pm two more boys arrived wearing light-coloured clothing with shorts carrying a metal barrier that may have been stolen from the Stony Lane building site.

They then threw this barrier over the security fencing surrounding the closed skateboard park, then ripped a litter bin from its securing post and threw this over the security fence, badly damaging it. The litter bin will cost around £200 to replace.

Glass bottles were then thrown at the fencing, covering the area with broken glass.

According to Reepham Town Council, the description of the two girls closely matches that of two girls who, along with two boys, recently broke a skylight at the public toilets in Pudding Pie Alley.

The CCTV footage has been made available to the police, but if you can identify the group and/or name any individuals in it from the above descriptions, please contact the town clerk in total confidence on 01603 873355 or email.
