Because stocks of Aquaboxes and Shelterboxes are always kept ready for dispatch, these are often the first items that reach families in desperate need after a major disaster.

Distribution is overseen by local Rotary and charity partners, which overcomes many of the difficulties of responding to disaster areas.

In January 2023, Reepham Rotary Club was able to send £1,800 for the purchase of 12 Aquabox Gold Boxes, which hold water treatment and survival equipment for a family. These would have replenished stocks sent to Pakistan and have already been sent for use in Turkey and Syria.

Reepham Rotary is now providing £4,800 for eight Shelterboxes, which will provide temporary accommodation for 60 homeless people.

Club president Jim Fraser explained that this latest donation leaves the club needing to raise more funds.

“We have donated to many causes this year and sent substantial sums to Ukraine last week,” he said. “We have scraped together all we can at this stage so expect more fundraising projects soon.”

You can help

This continued supply of funds is ensured by Reepham Rotary’s 100 Club. Each ticket costs £2 and four winning tickets are drawn each month. All funds go to Aquabox, which is run entirely by volunteers.

Thanks for your help.
