More than 50 people attended a series of free creative workshops hosted by Reepham Artists and Makers (RAM) in the Bircham Centre, Reepham, over the course of the last weekend in February.

The workshops were fully booked, allowing those attending to learn new skills and produce something beautiful, creating collage birds, painted sailboats, copper roses and fused glass eggs.

The artists and makers included Carolyn Penney, Nicola Draycott, Tom Crisp, Sue Johnston and Emily Longhurst.

Places at the workshops were popular and fully booked within a short time of their announcement. They were held in the garden and meeting rooms in the Bircham Centre.

The budding artists were provided with all the necessary materials, funded by a small grant from Broadland District Council, and were able to leave proudly carrying their creations.

Bircham Centre manager Polly Brockis was thrilled with the success of the weekend. “It was wonderful to hear the buzz of conversation and see the pride and joy felt by everyone involved,” she said.

“This is exactly the kind of thing that the Bircham Centre is keen to promote: activities that improve the skills and wellbeing of Reepham’s community.”
