Second Christmas Tree Festival planned

Reepham Lions are planning to hold Reepham’s second Christmas Tree Festival from Friday 2 December to Sunday 4 December in St Mary’s church.

Last year’s inaugural event was attended by a large number of visitors, especially during the Festival of Light.

It was planned to be a community event rather than a fundraiser, but the Lions were delighted that donations during the Christmas Tree Festival provided a surplus of around £1,000, which was shared equally between Reepham Lions and St Mary’s.

The 2022 festival will follow the same lines as last year, with around 22 trees in the church, each sponsored by businesses, community groups or individuals, with sponsorship just £40 per tree.

Lights and tree stands will be provided by the Lions, but sponsors are asked to decorate their tree – or invite another group to decorate it for them.

The festival will again be run as a community event with no charge for attendance, but there will be collection buckets for donations throughout the three-day event.

Any surplus money raised will again be shared between Reepham Lions and St Mary’s.

Reepham Lions Club provides funding for projects in and around Reepham that support community groups or meet specific needs. Applications for funding are welcomed – find out more HERE.
