Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone construction drop-in events

Vattenfall has begun construction of the Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone in which around 60 km of shared underground cabling will connect the power produced offshore with the onshore substations located near Necton.

While cable ducting installation will begin soon in the westernmost 20 km of the underground cable route, the Swedish government-owned energy company also has upcoming construction works in the remaining 40 km.
 
Vattenfall will hold a drop-in information day in Aylsham Town Hall, Market Place, Aylsham, on Thursday 15 February, from 9 am – 12 noon and from 5 pm – 8 pm, to discuss the construction of new access junctions and construction compounds in and around Aylsham before cable ducting installation is set to start in the easternmost 40 km of the onshore cable route in early 2025.
 
While registering is not necessary, if you intend on coming along on 15 February, please send an email to provide an idea of numbers.
 
A similar community drop-in information event will also be held at 2nd Dereham Scouts, South Green, Dereham, on Wednesday 14 February, again from 9 am – 12 noon and from 5 pm – 8 pm.
